idea 1: brief notes
location:
I have chosen a castle as my primary setting for my comic, as castles are regarded as very royal places, and settings for authority. that is why we will be having our protagonist fighting her villain in this area because her enemy is of high regard. signifying her downfall as a rebellion against this authority also.
themes and styles:
I'd like Steampunk to be the heavier influence on this comic, as this is a style i very much enjoy working with in terms of design and character aesthetics.
ideas and story :
My idea for this comic would be for this comic to start at an odd place in the comic. i'd like it to start near the end of the plot, where two characters who used to be friends in the past are faced with the challenge to kill each other upon the floors of the castle. Two forces, Order and chaos. One on a quest to destroy the universe with utmost power and strength, and the other simply trying her best to stop the madness. with nothing but her own two hands. a heroine has arisen in this protagonist. not usually tasked to fight, and has never put herself out of her way to be noticed stands before powerful dragons as a last attempt to stop them, as all hope is lost for her world. despite her only being a simple little bird.
Genres:
Although this story lies upon heavy themes the genre for this comic would be an ambiguous adventure, as the story of this comic lies heavily on time travel, and physics. age range would be around 14+ as the characters designs are enjoyable for most ages and the story is very interpenetrate as its not always clear what the characters will do next.
Target Audience: http://www.firstsecondbooks.com/behind-the-scenes/target-audiences/
for my graphic narrative i would like to appeal to the older audiences because of my sci-fi based plot and the violent implications of certain characters, they mean harm to one another and some children may not appreciate cartoon violence, however, I still openly allow them to read it if they can, it's not so violent that it is classed as disturbing, it's just not very young child friendly, that's why i have classed my comic for a 12+ rating, My chosen Gender is Female because certain characters in the story are meant to be relate-able to girls and would like girls to take certain strengths from these characters. A good portion of the market is carved out for girls interested in comics, and that can be seen here in this article: http://www.pastemagazine.com/articles/2014/11/10-great-comics-for-adolescent-girls-graphic-novel.html
I'd like a middle class audience ( C1Supervisory or clerical and junior managerial, administrative or professional) who has enough Disposable income to purchase each issue as it comes out monthly, and will be able to keep up with the comic as it is released.
